Titusville’s The Heroes Grill awarded Keep Brevard Beautiful’s “We Noticed” Award

August 6th, 2025 – When Titusville natives, LaShawn Harrison and Reuben Wooten, started dating during their high school days at Astronaut High School, they probably weren’t planning to open a restaurant honoring members of the US Military, Veterans, Police, Fire and EMT.
After graduating in 1989, the couple married and enlisted in the US Navy. When their service was complete, they returned to Titusville, where they raised two sons who very successfully followed in their parents’ footsteps – one serving in the US Army and the other serving in the US Navy.
Reuben and LaShawn are great cooks and decided to open a restaurant – but not just any restaurant. They wanted to combine their passion for people and their desire to serve their community with their skills as great cooks. They carefully named their restaurant “The Heroes Grill” and, on May 22, 2015, they opened their doors at 1300 South St, at the corner of South Street and South Grannis Avenue, to serve great food and honor those who serve their country and community.

With their beautiful new mural depicting the Tuskegee Airmen and the attached well-stocked grocery store, Harvest Market, The Heroes Grill has significantly enhanced the appearance and environment of Titusville while instilling pride in the community.
On Wednesday August 6th, Titusville Mayor Andrew Connors, along with members of the Keep Brevard Beautiful North Action Team, awarded THE HEROES GRILL owners, Reuben and LaShawn Wooten, with the Keep Brevard Beautiful North Action Team “We Noticed” award.

The “We Noticed” award recognizes local businesses for their efforts in beautifying the area, making Titusville and Brevard County a more beautiful and enjoyable place to live and grow.
