Keep Brevard Beautiful, Inc. and Brevard County Parks and Recreation partnered this year to present the EcoLiving Jubilee at Kiwanis Island Park in Merritt Island on November 15 from 3-6 PM. This event celebrated a Keep America Beautiful initiative, America Recycles Day. America Recycles Day is a national program of Keep America Beautiful, and is the only nationally-recognized day and community-driven awareness event dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the U.S. Since its inception in 1997, communities across the country have participated in America Recycles Day on Nov. 15 to educate, promote environmental citizenship, and encourage action. The EcoLiving Jubilee featured sustainable living exhibitors, energy saving vendors, door prizes, eco activities, live music, a Creative Recycled Art Contest open to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, locally sourced food, a shoe donation dropoff, movie in the park – “Epic”, and the Space Coast Electric Vehicle Drivers group displayed 10 of their electric cars. Many thanks to all of the exhibitors and volunteers who helped to make this event a success.
