The Port Provides Dumpsters for Citizen Cleanup of Fish
PORT PROVIDES DUMPSTERS FOR CITIZENS CLEANUP
As part of Brevard County’s efforts to support citizen volunteers in removing fish from area waterways due to the recent fish kill, Port Canaveral has partnered with our waste services provider Waste Pro to place two dumpsters along SR 528 between the Port and Banana River Drive. One dumpster will be located on the north and the other on the south side of the roadway. Both will be in place starting Friday, March 25, see approximate location map below.
We advise volunteers to use caution along the roadway and wear safety gear, including safety vests, as well as heed other recommended precautions while collecting the fish, such as using bags and gloves.
Additional locations where dumpsters can be found to dispose of the fish include:
- Bicentennial Park, 801 W Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach
- Kiwanis Island Park, 51 Kiwanis Island Park Rd, Merritt Island
- Kelly Park, Merritt Island, 2550 N. Banana River Drive
- POW/MIA Park, 5995 N. U.S. 1, Melbourne, at Pineda Causeway
- Eau Gallie Causeway (will add an extra dumpster there)
