Efforts of different kinds are happening around the world.

The mission of Keep Brevard Beautiful intersects with others and together we form a huge number of people in communities working to preserve the world in which we all live.

While Keep America Beautiful is such a successful program for our country, there are efforts happening on other continents that benefit all kinds of communities and cultures. Afroz Shah, a lawyer from Mumbai, organized a 90 week effort through 2017 to clear off one of the most polluted beaches in the world. This cleanup was so successful that in March of 2018 the native Olive Ridley sea turtles came back to nest after decades of being driven away by the immense amounts of plastic, but “volunteers collected a staggering 5.3 million kilograms of decomposing trash and plastic” and made a huge difference to the wildlife. Versova Beach still has a long way to come but it is already seeing better days.
