Each year, the U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council showcases outstanding and innovative public/private partnerships in a best practices report to inspire other cities to work with companies to address issues. Waste Management’s partnership with the City of Cocoa Beach and Keep Brevard Beautiful was selected for inclusion in the 2016 report for the Cocoa Beach Clean-Up Program to address increasing trash on the beach and downtown area. Waste Management and Keep Brevard Beautiful presented a copy of the publication and a recognition plaque to the City of Cocoa Beach at its July 20, 2017 Commission meeting.
