Celebrating Community and Conservation: Keep Brevard Beautiful’s Summer Series Kicks Off Record-Breaking 9th Year

The 2025 Summer Series launched on June 7 at Bird Island, a scenic sandbar hotspot near Cape Canaveral where boaters often gather. Known for its lively atmosphere, the area also battles persistent litter challenges. But this year, over 90 volunteers turned the tide, collecting a staggering 1,660 pounds of debris in just three hours—making it the most successful Summer Series event to date!

As the cleanup unfolded, another celebration took place just five miles away. In honor of Carnival Cruise Line’s 35th Anniversary at Port Canaveral, the company partnered with the Canaveral Port Authority to recognize a local nonprofit making an impact. Without hesitation, Port officials recommended KBB.

During a heartfelt dedication ceremony, Keep Brevard Beautiful, Inc. received a brand-new truck—a game-changer for daily operations. The donation highlights Carnival’s commitment to sustainability and Port Canaveral’s trust in KBB’s ability to drive meaningful change.

“It is a real honor to be recognized by Port Canaveral and Carnival Cruise Lines, two amazing organizations that see the real impact we have in our community. Receiving this generous donation while our event is underway makes it even more meaningful. The truck itself will help in our day-to-day operations of beautifying not only Port Canaveral but also Brevard County as a whole.”

Special thanks to Florida Today, Cape Crossing Boat Rentals, Port Canaveral, and Carnival Cruise Line for their unwavering support. Here’s to another 9 years of community, conservation, and celebration!
